It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas..

Hey fellow bloggers,

It’s been a year. A whole year! How is that even possible? It feels like yesterday that I was creating my first blog. My Christmas blog. The story of my engagement. What a magical time, the best time to begin blogging again & hopefully stick to it this time!!

So where do I start, what do you want to know?? I’m still engaged, so far the wedding is on hold as well we have been very busy indeed. Serena continues to work in a nursery, has been learning to drive (a huge goal of hers that she feels is well overdue) & I threw myself into a new career. For six years I worked towards my qualifications in Childcare & early years. I got my qualifications & felt like something was missing… I needed more, I wanted to pursue something new & I went for it.. I began my career in administration this year a job came up in admin & luckily my creativity & caring nature also came in handy for my new role & position is administrator and activities coordinator in a big, yellow residential home. I adore my job, I’ve been there for a little while now & I am really finding my feet. No day is the same, I feel good & I can see myself progressing & gaining the experience I need to really do wonders in my professional life. Really happy!

So there, your all caught up on the basics, I am sure there’s so much more but for now I am going to write about the title of this blog, my favourite time of year.. Christmas!!

It’s coming tomorrow is the first of December & that makes me so excited. Some decorations are up, the activities calendar for the whole festive month is up & I couldn’t be more ready. I love this time of year, you wrap up warm, everyone is full of joy & excitement. You think of others & others think of you. It’s all snuggly & pretty.. maybe it might even snow. Feel like I am writing one of those cheesy songs you watch on those animated Disney films!! 🎶

Going to wrap it up now as I feel I am probably, most definitely rambling.. I’ll end this with a picture of the activity we did this afternoon at my job. A festive delight of winter tipples for our hydration afternoon. Enjoy!! Like & comment for more, feel free to post new ideas or things you’d like to read

The Proposal, LGBT, I Said Yes!!

I said yes!! On December the 24th Christmas Eve 2017, Serena got down on one knee and asked me to marry her. It honestly was perfect.

Christmas is my favourite time of the year. Now even more so, I find the whole festive period so exciting, so magical & I enjoy doing anything festive so this was just my idea of perfection!!

How did she do it? You must be wondering..

We were visiting my mum, my sister and my niece in my hometown Devon for Christmas. It was getting dark, the stars lit up the sky and it began raining lightly we wrapped up and all walked down to the seafront. We all stopped at this beautiful bandstand that I had played in when I was a child. We were planning to set balloons off that I had purchased earlier that day for our loved ones that are no longer with us.

As my sister, my mum, my niece and Serena said our messages we let them go and watched them fly off into the distance. Unknown to me my sister had whipped off my nieces jumper, I turned around to see Serena on her knee and my niece hopping around excitedly. At first, I didn’t know what to do or say, the emotions were overwhelming.. On my nieces t-shirt it said, will you marry me Louisa and that was it I was an emotional mess saying yes, Serena slid the ring onto my finger and we kissed everyone cheering, my Mum even cried. They all said congratulations and I was so happy.

We moved onto the local pub and celebrated with a bottle of champagne and a fruit shoot for my niece.
